We're back in 2024 and what better way to bring in the new year than a brand new Feature Drop? We are excited to introduce Checklist Categories!

With Checklist Categories, finding the right checklist is a breeze. Say goodbye to endless scrolling. You can also colour-code your checklists and add those handy Icons - finding the correct checklist has never been easier.

Customise your checklists to fit your unique needs. Set categories from the Templates page and assign them to your templates, it's so easy, check out the demo below!

We’re pumped to unveil the new ‘Geolocations’ feature on our site operations platform! This handy new tool now allows you to set up a radius around your work sites that will trigger a notification when workers enter/leave site. 

Once the notification is received, workers can sign in or out of a job site faster than ever before! How good is that! It’s super simple to turn on this feature. As of today, you can make sure your project is setup. We will soon be releasing a new of our Worker App (early next week) and once your workers enable location access you will be good to go!

The launch of Geolocations is one of several new feature releases we have planned to enhance important management, safety and compliance tasks – creating even more efficiencies in your daily operations.

Thanks to the platform’s sleek new layout and functionality, listing and requesting crucial documentation from different contractors associated with your projects has never been easier - and it’s never looked so damn good either!

Offline Checklists Module

Our new Offline Checklists Module is officially ‘online’ and available through the worker app on iOS devices! This powerful new feature enables on-site workers to access and action their daily checklist in off-grid and remote sites, without needing an internet connection.

We all know that labor is expensive. That's why we're excited to have launched our Timesheets module for Standard, Pro and Enterprise customers.

In addition to tracking your sign ons, BuildPass now allows your workers to submit their Timesheets for the hours they have worked as well as giving you a description of what works they were doing.

We are excited to announce the latest additions to the BuildPass platform! With our new features, including Subbie Actions, Sending Reminders, and Versioned Inductions, you can now keep everyone accountable, get important tasks done quicker, and manage inductions more efficiently than ever before. Check them out!

Subbie Actions

Subbies can now receive action item notifications and close them out, all without downloading the app or creating an account!

Sending Reminders

Are people forgetting to respond to action items? Now you can send a reminder! You can also configure default reminders in settings.

Versioned inductions

Requesting induction changes? Repeated inductions will now appear as new versions of the old ones. We’ll also send induction notifications via SMS now too!

This week, we are revisiting a fan favourite - our SWMS Builder.

We know that your business makes worker safety on-site a top priority. The BuildPass SWMS Builder makes sure your workers are well-informed about hazards on site and the measures in place to keep them safe. The best bit is that it is easy to use and available to your Subcontractors at no extra cost.

The BuildPass SWMS Builder allows Builders and Subcontractors to:

• Draft SWMS using an intuitive, purpose-built authoring tool
• Save time by dynamically populating project details
• Leverage a repository of industry-standard templates
• Fully customise your SWMS to match how your business works
• Maintain a library of templates that you can re-use on future projects
• Generate PDF copies of your SWMS which can be exported or submitted for approval

This week, we are mixing things up with a Product Update rather than a Feature Drop Friday. We will back to regular programming soon, but in the meantime you can always find our last few Feature Drop Friday's online.

We have made some changes to our Procore integration which we are pretty excited about. The update we have just rolled out increases the number of modules that now sync to Procore as well as giving your team better visibility and control of the data that is being shared.

In addition to everything the old integration provided you can now:

• Automatically send your inductions, SWMS, toolboxes and site diaries from BuildPass to Procore
• Be notified when a new project or Subcontractor is added to BuildPass from Procore
• Control what data will be sent from BuildPass to Procore.

To start making the most of these new features re-configure your Procore integration. When you reconnect you will be automatically moved over to our new integration.

We are only at the start of improving our integration infrastructure, so we if you have thoughts on what else we should be synching please let us know.

We are back with yet another Feature Drop Friday this week.

Last week we rolled out some changes to our Checklist module, today we are announcing that we have now added new capabilities allowing you to share Checklists with your Workers.

This means that your Checklists can now be completed by anyone on-site right from the mobile application. Workers will no longer have to request that you share a Checklist with them, they will be able to see whichever Checklists you choose right from their mobile app.

We hope your year has been off to a great start! Ours has been so busy that we had to take a brief break from our regular Feature Drop Friday schedule, but we're thrilled to be back with a big update this week.

We're super excited to be back this week to show you the long-awaited uplift to our Checklist module.

It is now easier than ever to find the right Checklist with improved filtering, better grouping, and customisable display options. These changes will help you find what you need faster to ensure you can mitigate delivery risks.

Sometimes, change is necessary, and this is certainly the case with the navigation menu within BuildPass. Our menu has been there since day 1 when we launched the product to our very first builder.. Since those initial days, we've learnt a lot about how our users use BuildPass and have reworked the navigation to reflect that.

We understand change can be a little unnerving but we promise this is not just change for the sake of change. Let's talk through a few of the improvements in no particular order:

• Cleaner and more compact - Thiswill likely be the first thing you notice. The menu looks slightly different whilst not being completely foreign. Given the number of modules BuildPass now supports, we've made the design more compact to reduce the amount of scrolling required. Here are a couple of bonus features:
  • Menu items can be opened in a new tab like normal links
  • The menu panel can be resized (double click to go back to the original size)
• Project selector improvements - We’ve tidied up the project selector to help make identifying projects simpler. Oh, and for our bigger builders, after 7 projects, we show a search box to help with filtering
• Groupings - The menu's grouping has been updated from the assumptions we made early days, to reflect how our real customers use the menu.
  • Dashboards, Project management, Directory, and Modules are the top-level groupings
  • SWMS, Insurances, and SDS have moved to the Safety sub-group
  • Workers and Staff have been grouped under the People sub-group
• Settings popup - Further aiding to reduce scrolling, a few menu items have been moved into a popup menu accessed by clicking on Settings in the bottom left corner. Those items are
  • Company settings
  • Integrations
  • Admin users
  • Projects
• Better breadcrumbs - The previous breadcrumb system left a lot to be desired. With this revamp, the breadcrumbs at the top of the page should work exactly how you'd expect. I know, seems obvious.
• New menu - We’ve added a nifty + New dropdown for common actions where you need to create a record, these are
  • Action
  • Project
  • Subcontractor
  • Project

There's also a tonne of tidy-up under the hood and technical improvements that we won't go into here. We're hoping this redesigned navigation improves your usage of BuildPass.

Public checklists enable builders to share lists with anyone, not just those on the BuildPass platform. So whether it's a subcontractor, worker or some other external party, you now send and request your customised checklists.

Generate a link or QR and share as needed. You will have access to disable the public checklists at any time, preventing further submissions.

In addition to public checklists, we've also introduced the concept of public register items and the ability to link checklists to registers.

Public register items allow you to generate public pages for your plant and equipment, linking common checklists like plant inductions or maintenance reports and then sharing these publicly. Print off a QR code, and add it to your plan for a worker to quickly scan and fill in any checklist as needed.

Fixes and Improvements:

• ✨ Added the ability to search for subcontractors by ABN, prefilling data
• ✨ Added the ability to see checklist responses by all projects
• 🐛 Fixed issue with selecting to only see your checklists would not work

• 🐛 Fixed registers generated code from creating a registered prefix longer than five characters.
• ✨ Huge improvement to the loading states for web inductions providing feedback to the user.
• ✨ Web inductions don't require you to reauthenticate your mobile number if a valid token is found from a previous sign-on.
• ✨ Improved the visitor model used within web inductions for once-off workers attending a site. Now separate from a worker.

• Use a new query to fetch sign-on for today - Fix issues with sign-on over the night, sometimes causing the worker to be already signed on the following day.
